Job summary

Community Housing Innovations (CHI) is seeking a Shift Supervisor to manage Residential Aide staff in our Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn location. You will ensure quality service delivery and adherence to CHI, OTDA, and funding requirements.

You will oversee staffing, conduct fire drills, supervise meals, handle crisis interventions, and maintain site operations while coordinating with management and external agencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years of verified experience in homeless services.
• 2+ years of management experience in social services or related fields.
• Proficiency in English; multilingual and Spanish proficiency preferred.
• First Aid/CPR Certification and Food Handler's Certificate (required on hire or within 60 days).
• F-80 Fire Safety Coordinator certification required or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• Computer skills: MS Windows, MS Office, and Internet.
• Physical ability to tour properties and climb stairs; strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Residential Aide staff and provide guidance.
• Oversee weekend and overnight staffing as needed.
• Conduct fire drills and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Supervise meals in line with OTDA and DHS food-safety guidelines.
• Provide on-site crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary.
• Minimize revenue loss due to vacancies and unpaid shelter payments.
• Ensure program compliance with funding requirements and CHI policies.
• Review cameras and monitor areas; enforce site rules.
• Provide on-site training and feedback to staff.
• Liaise with agencies referring eligible clients.
• Submit logs, incident reports, and other required documentation.
