Job summary

Community Housing Innovations, Inc. (CHI) in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Shift Supervisor to manage Residential Aide staff and ensure high-quality services per CHI, OTDA, and funder guidelines.

You will supervise staffing, oversee weekends/overnights, conduct fire drills, ensure food safety, and provide on-site training while coordinating with program leadership. Strong communication and crisis management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; 3+ years homeless services experience can override education.
• 2+ years in management within social services or related fields.
• Excellent communication in English; bilingual abilities a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Residential Aide staff and oversee weekend/overnight scheduling.
• Conduct fire drills and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
• Manage client meals per site policies and oversee food safety.
• Provide crisis intervention and escalation when needed.
• Maintain logs, reports, and site condition records; liaison with agencies.
• Support on-call supervision and staff training; ensure program compliance.
