Job summary

Phoenix House Orange County, Inc. in Irvine, CA is seeking a Sobering Center Recovery Specialist for the PM shift. You will provide direct, non-clinical support, help ensure client safety, and promote a recovery-oriented environment.

The role requires maintaining client observations, participating in a multidisciplinary team, and coordinating referrals to housing, treatment, and community resources. Schedule: Sun–Thu, 2:45pm–11:15pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be registered or certified as an Alcohol and Drug (AOD) Counselor recognized by DHCS.
• Six months prior experience in a related field preferred.
• Must maintain a valid credential during employment.
• Must obtain TB test clearance and update yearly.

Responsibilities

• Welcome clients and provide orientation to the Sobering Center in a respectful and professional manner.
• Maintain professional boundaries while building supportive relationships with clients.
• Provide non-clinical emotional and practical support to clients during their stay.
• Assist clients with transportation or discharge arrangements per policy.
• Conduct and document client observations at least every 15 minutes as required.
