Job summary

The Resource Recovery Center of Orange County is seeking a dedicated Recovery Support Staff member to assist individuals with substance use disorders in NY state certified inpatient detox and rehab settings. You will work across safety posts, support daily program routines, and help with admissions, screenings, and discharge processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year related work experience preferred.
• Familiar with DSP, BHT, Milieu Counselor in Mental Health.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and engaging customer service from safety desk or residential posts.
• Ensures the safety and well-being of all clients, visitors, and personnel.
• Supports evacuation drills and responses to safety codes.
• Ensures proper incident reporting.
• Monitors clients and provides trauma-informed redirection.
• Communicates client activity to interdisciplinary teams.
• Assists with locating and escorting clients to appointments.
• Assists with meals and snacks and monitors dining area.
• Supports nicotine dosing administration for limited smoking program.
• Maintains records on shift reports.
• Participates in shift communications and trainings.
