Job summary

Project HOME is seeking an Evening Receptionist for the Hub of Hope in Philadelphia. You will greet visitors, answer calls, refer participants to services, and support shelter logistics.

The role runs Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–7:00 PM with a pay rate of $18.15/hour. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of clerical experience in social services and strong listening, communication, and de-escalation skills. Experience with Excel or HMIS is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of performing clerical duties in a social services setting.
• Excellent listening, communication, and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to deal with resistance effectively.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a courteous and welcoming presence at the reception desk at all times.
• Become acquainted with individuals who frequent the Hub of Hope in order to improve our customer service.
• Answer and transfer incoming calls and take messages.
• Accept and distribute donations. Provide donation receipts as necessary
• Maintain electronic sign-up sheets for showers, laundry and resource coordination appointments in Excel.
• Complete data entry into Webfocus, HMIS, etc. as required. (Training to be provided)
• Maintain a shelter transport list and direct participants to shelter transports at the end of each day.
• Remain aware of foot traffic into and out of the building.
• Monitor security cameras and notify appropriate personnel if concerns arise.
• Maintain situational awareness at all times to prevent or quickly respond to incidents or crises that may occur.
