Job summary

Project HOME is seeking a Receptionist to act as the professional point of contact for staff, residents, contractors, and guests at Ruth Williams House. You will manage building access, sign-in procedures, and uphold high standards of customer service.

Responsibilities include front desk presence, call handling, clerical tasks, and supporting community room setups, with de-escalation and emergency procedures as needed. Salary reflects $18.15/hour with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 1 year of related experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a constant front desk presence, authorize access for staff, residents, guests, and delivery personnel, and log visitors with photo ID.
  • Foster respectful relationships with residents, guests, and community members.
  • Conduct hourly rounds to check doors/windows and monitor security cameras.
  • Answer calls, take messages, and support clerical tasks (typing, filing, copying, deliveries).
  • Assist with room setups for community space meetings.
  • Document shift summaries and share during shift changes.
  • Address urgent situations using de-escalation strategies and follow emergency procedures for floods or fires.
  • Serve as dispatch/point of contact for outreach, including referrals and documentation.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as needed (supervision, staff meetings, community meetings, linkage meetings, court appearances).

This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.

  • Location: Ruth Williams House 2415 N. Broad St. Phila, PA 19132
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday | 4PM - 12AM
  • Pay Rate: $18.15 per hour
What You Will Do:
  • Maintain a constant presence at the front desk, granting access only to authorized staff, residents, guests, and delivery personnel while ensuring all guests sign the visitor log and present photo ID.
  • Establish and maintain healthy, respectful relationships with residents, guests, and community members
  • Conduct hourly rounds to monitor unusual activity, check the security of exterior doors and windows, and use security cameras for surveillance.
  • Answer incoming calls, take accurate messages, and assist with clerical tasks such as typing, filing, copying, and managing deliveries.
  • Facilitate room setups for community space meetings
  • Document shift summaries and share during shift change.
  • Address urgent and crisis situations using de-escalation strategies and follow emergency procedures for incidents such as floods and fires.
  • As applicable, act as dispatch and point of contact for outreach, including completing response forms making referrals, and completing documentation.
  • Attend meetings and trainings, including supervision, staff meetings, community meetings, linkage meetings, and court appearances, if necessary.
