Job summary

Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) is seeking a Patient Access Representative for PRN Evening shifts. You will interview patients, collect insurance information, and complete admission registrations for inpatients and outpatients.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least 6 months of related experience, and preferred CHAA certification. You will work with Epic and multiple hospital systems to ensure accurate registrations and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months related experience.
• CHAA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies demographic and insurance information and collects signatures; handles payments and insurance verification.
• Informs patients of rates, rules, and answers questions; collaborates with clinical staff across departments.
• Inputs patient data into Epic; manages records, labels, bracelets, and electronic signatures.
• Meets or exceeds a 7-minute per-patient registration standard.
• Verifies benefits via Epic Real-Time Eligibility and follows payer requirements.
• Assists in training new department staff; performs clerical and computer duties.
• Collects co-pays, deductibles, and balances; processes credit card transactions in Epic.
• Registers Antenatal Patients in Epic.
• Supports Hospital Information Desks and guides volunteers.
• Works with multiple hospital systems including Epic, Watch Child, Outlook, and Excel.
