Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD is seeking staff to perform patient arrival and registration in the Emergency Department. You will verify demographics, insurance, collect co-pays, and ensure accurate data entry across systems, including Epic, Watch Child, and OnBase.

The role emphasizes fast, accurate processing, teamwork with rotating staff, and exceptional customer service in a high-stress environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Terminology class preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year ER registration experience preferred.
• EMTALA and insurance knowledge beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Complete arrival and registration for emergent patients.
• Enter accurate insurance information and collect co-pays.
• Verify demographics and signatures for records.
• Input patient data into computer systems and maintain accuracy.
• Assist with training new employees and provide excellent customer service.
• Collaborate with clinical staff across departments to support patient flow.
• Operate hospital computer applications such as Epic and Excel.
