Job summary

Mason Street Grill in downtown Milwaukee is seeking a PM Prep Cook to support evening culinary operations by preparing ingredients and food items per recipes, standards, and production needs. You’ll help keep the kitchen stocked, maintain high food quality, and oversee proper labeling and storage following FIFO.

Ideal candidates bring at least 3 years of cooking experience, a preferred culinary program, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of cooking experience, preferred.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods in a hot, noisy kitchen.
• Ability to obtain licenses/certifications for sanitation or liquor service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and food items according to established recipes and standards.
• Complete daily prep tasks accurately to ensure readiness for dinner service.
• Wash, peel, cut, slice, portion, marinate and prepare meats, seafood, vegetables, sauces and other ingredients.
• Label, date, store, rotate and organize all prepared and received food following FIFO and safety rules.
• Maintain proper temperatures and sanitation; follow safety and storage requirements.
• Communicate with chefs and line cooks about prep levels and needs; stay stocked and organized.
• Operate knives, slicers, mixers, ovens and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Assist the culinary team during busy periods and events as needed.
• Follow company policies and safety procedures; promote teamwork and guest service.
