Job summary

Upper Valley Career Center in Piqua, OH seeks a part-time instructor for the Advanced Manufacturing Maintenance program, focusing on PLCs and robotics. Classes run 4–5 weeks, 2 evenings per week, with responsibilities spanning lesson planning, student progress, and industry partnerships.

The role requires 5 years’ field experience or a relevant degree with 3 years in industrial maintenance, plus PLC/robotics familiarity. Prior teaching is preferred; state credentialing may be required.

Qualifications

• 5 years' work experience in field OR a degree with 3 years' work experience in industrial maintenance and PLCs.
• Prior teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with PLC software and robotics platforms is preferred.
• Candidates with Siemens PLC experience will also be considered.
• Robotics experience in theory and application is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates student learning activities that encourage teamwork and employability skills.
• Develops lesson plans for adult students in classroom and lab.
• Monitors student progress using assessments.
• Coordinates with employers to provide real-world experiences.
• Prepares students for industry credential assessments.
• Assists program coordinator with curriculum development and course scheduling.
