Job summary

Upper Valley Career Center is seeking part-time evening instructors for classes in Basic Industrial Electricity, Machine Controls, Motors and Controllers, Electrical Systems & Components, Electrical Troubleshooting, and PLC programming. Each course runs ~4–5 weeks, held 2 evenings per week, with instruction aligned to program objectives and Ohio standards.

The instructor will lead learning experiences, guide skill development, and foster employability and leadership qualities to help students

Qualifications

5 years' work experience in field of expertise or advanced degrees with 3 years' work experience in the field.
Prior teaching experience preferred.
Experience with Industrial Electricity and the fundamental science of electricity and circuitry.
Holds or is able to obtain a valid Ohio State Board of Education Adult Education Permit.
Must pass a criminal background check (BCI/FBI) and comply with drug-free workplace rules.

Responsibilities

Facilitate student learning activities that encourage teamwork and employability skills.
Develop lesson plans for classroom and laboratory settings.
Monitor student progress using formal and informal assessments.
Coordinate with employers to provide real-world experiences.
Assist program coordinator with curriculum development, scheduling, and advisory meetings.
