Job summary

Upper Valley Career Center in Piqua, Ohio is seeking part-time evening instructors for the HVACR program. Each class runs 4-5 weeks, two evenings per week, with hours from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, as needed.

Instructors will develop lesson plans, monitor progress, coordinate with employers for real-world experiences, and prepare students for industry credentials; prior teaching is preferred and candidates must meet Ohio adult education permit requirements.

Qualifications

• 5 years' work experience in field OR Associate's/Bachelor's/Master's in field plus 3 years in HVAC/R
• Prior teaching experience preferred
• Valid Ohio State Board of Education Adult Education Permit or ability to obtain
• Must pass BCI/FBI background check and comply with drug-free workplace rules

Responsibilities

• Facilitates student learning activities that encourage teamwork and employability skills.
• Develops lesson plans for classroom and lab settings.
• Monitors student progress using formal and informal assessments.
• Coordinates with employers to provide real-world experiences for students.
• Prepares students for industry credential assessments.
• Assists program coordinator with curriculum development, course scheduling and advisory meetings
