Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Play & Learn Lead to supervise children aged 6 weeks to 12 years and ensure high-quality program delivery across Play & Learn operations. You will plan weekly curriculum, lead special events, support staff, and maintain clear communication with families while upholding YMCA safety and abuse-prevention policies.

The role emphasizes role modeling for youth and staff and aligns with the YMCA’s mission and core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old.
• High school degree or GED.
• Minimum of six months experience with children ages 6 weeks–12 years.
• Current CPR/First Aid/O2 certification (provided upon employment).
• Demonstrated ability to lead activities and manage groups safely.

Responsibilities

• Provide constant, active supervision of children to ensure safety and well-being at all times.
• Greet children and families and support a positive arrival and departure experience.
• Plan and implement weekly, developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities.
• Plan and lead special programs and events, including Parent Night Outs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe program environment and equipment.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians.
• Maintain current knowledge of YMCA programs, policies, and procedures.
• Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures regarding the prevention of abuse.
• Attend mandatory training on abuse prevention, including recognizing signs of abuse, and reporting requirements.
