Job summary

Kids for the Future seeks a Lead Teacher to guide a group of children birth through six in a YMCA setting. You will plan lessons, document developmental progress, and maintain strong family relationships while complying with health and licensing regulations.

Responsibilities include supervising teachers, practicum students, and volunteers, creating a safe, engaging classroom, and coordinating communications with families and partner agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education; minimum 21 years old; at least 6 months lead teacher experience in preschool; English proficiency; compliance with DHS & Health Department guidelines; knowledge of Teaching Strategies GOLD and Early Childhood Guidelines

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
• Develop daily schedules balancing active and quiet times.
• Monitor and document children's developmental progress.
• Maintain positive relations with families and inform Directors of concerns.
• Supervise and develop classroom staff and volunteers.
• Ensure classroom materials and safety standards are met.
