Job summary

Kids for the Future seeks a Play & Learn Staff member to provide direct care and supervision for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years in a safe, nurturing environment. You will lead age-appropriate activities and model YMCA values while building positive relationships with families.

The role requires at least 6 months of childcare experience, a high school diploma or GED, and current CPR/First Aid with Oxygen certification. The position is part-time hourly, with a base pay of $12.00–$13.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of six months experience working with children ages 6 weeks–12 years.
• Strong desire and demonstrated ability to work with children.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen Certification (will provide upon hire).
• Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with children, parents, and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Provide constant, active supervision of children at all times to ensure safety and well-being.
• Greet children and families warmly at arrival and departure, supporting a positive member experience.
• Lead and support age-appropriate, structured activities that encourage development and engagement.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe program environment and equipment.
• Communicate professionally and regularly with parents and guardians.
• Follow and consistently enforce all program policies, safety procedures, and licensing requirements.
• Model inclusive practices that ensure all children feel safe, respected, and welcome.
