Job summary

Pima Medical Institute in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician Instructor for the evening faculty team at our Phoenix campus. You will lead adult learners through hands-on lab instruction, demonstrations, and lectures, shaping students for field success.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in phlebotomy, a recognized phlebotomy program, and strong communication skills. This part-time evening role offers 20 hours weekly and opportunities to mentor and grow.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Phlebotomy Technician program recognized by USDE or CHEA.
• Minimum of four years of job-related training and experience in phlebotomy for non-graduates.
• Minimum of three years of practical experience as a Phlebotomist or in a closely related healthcare field.
• Active license, certification, or designation in phlebotomy as required by local, state, or federal laws.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in clinical lab settings, demonstrating venipuncture, capillary puncture, specimen handling, and safety protocols.
• Design and deliver engaging lesson plans utilizing diverse teaching techniques.
• Evaluate and grade student coursework, laboratory competencies, and assignments within 72 hours.
• Maintain regular face-to-face office hours to support, advise, and mentor students.
• Document student academic progress and address behavioral concerns promptly, notifying campus leadership within 24 hours of any incident.
• Partner with Admissions and Career Services on student success, externship placements, guest speakers, and clinical site visits.
• Complete and maintain accurate student files, daily attendance logs, incident reports, and early alerts.
