Job summary

Pima Medical Institute is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician Lead Faculty Instructor to guide curriculum delivery, mentor faculty, and coordinate classroom and lab instruction at the Phoenix campus.

You will oversee externships, ensure accreditation readiness, and support student success through effective instruction and assessment. Strong leadership and phlebotomy expertise are essential for shaping competent healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Phlebotomy Technician program recognized by USDE or CHEA (or equivalent such as a hospital-based program).
• Minimum of four (4) years of job-related training and experience for non-graduates of an accredited program.
• Minimum of three (3) years of occupational experience as a Phlebotomist or in a closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee implementation of the program curriculum; collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Faculty on accreditation documentation, meeting agendas, and Program Effectiveness Plan (PEP) annual updates.
• Facilitate Advisory Board meetings to communicate externship feedback, student progress, programmatic outcomes, and community satisfaction to campus leadership.
• Oversee lab supply inventory and ordering; partner with ADF to maintain proper instructor-to-student lab ratios.
• Assist with onboarding and mentoring new faculty, support hybrid didactic communication, and track graduate certification pass rates as needed.
• Design and deliver lesson plans utilizing diverse teaching methods; evaluate and grade student coursework and practical exams within 72 hours.
• Conduct on-site externship site qualifications, midpoint student visits, and supervise externship progress in partnership with Career Services.
• Maintain regular office hours to advise students; document academic or behavioral concerns, alerting leadership within 24 hours of any incidents.
• Participate in faculty meetings, advisory boards, graduations, and professional development opportunities.
