Job summary

Arizona College of Nursing in Mesa, AZ is seeking an instructor for our Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy Program on a part-time basis. The position runs Monday through Thursday from 5:30 pm to 11:05 pm and involves teaching three classes per day or evening using lectures, demonstrations, and audiovisual resources.

Qualifications

• Three years' practical experience in the content area or program field.
• Ability to establish and maintain appropriate levels of authority and provide supportive learning environment.
• Strong presentation and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and students.

Responsibilities

• Foster a captivating classroom environment following curriculum and keep students engaged.
• Administer and grade tests, maintain grade books, track attendance, and perform admin duties as required.
• Create a positive educational climate and communicate learning objectives clearly.
• Provide guidance during the practical training portion and teach proper technique.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and provide guidance and correction.
• Tutor and mentor students on an individual basis.
• Participate in training sessions and academic committees to enhance the program.
• Meet course-specific and school-wide student performance objectives.
