UMass Memorial Health is recruiting a Patient Care Technician I to join the Med/Surg unit in Leominster, MA. The role assists nurses, monitors high-risk patients, and supports daily living activities while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, performing EKGs and POC tests, and assisting with procedures under licensed clinicians. Strong English, basic computer skills, and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Medical Terminology.
• Computer skills.
• Must be able to remain calm when under stress or in emergency situations.

Responsabilités

• Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes seen in patients.
• Provides constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned by the Resource Nurse or designee.
• Assists patient with daily living activities and mobility.
• Assists in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients with proper safety techniques.
• Takes and records vital signs and measures height/weight.
• Performs EKGs, POC tests, bladder scanning, and collects specimens for lab transport.
