Qualifications

• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• BLS certification within six weeks of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.
• Successful transporter training and competencies.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Must be 16 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely from pickup to receiving area or discharge.
• Prepare and carry out transport of patients, belongings, equipment and records.
• Transfer patients using safe equipment; assist with lifts/moves as needed.
• Document work activities according to policy and procedure.
• Respond to patient requests per policy and procedures.
• Report relevant information to clinical staff to promote safety.
• Provide information and directions to visitors, patients and staff.
• Clean and store equipment properly.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked and orderly environment.
• Comply with regulatory requirements and infection control guidelines.
• Use software, pagers, and phones to respond to requests promptly.
