Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician-HCC 13-Evening Shift (37.5 Hours) to assist the professional nurse in patient care and support the unit's safety and efficiency.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, data collection for quality programs, and performing procedures such as phlebotomy, glucose fingersticks, and ECGs while coordinating admissions, transfers and discharges.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with hospital experience or CNA with EKG/Phlebotomy courses and PCT cert eligible.
• BLS/CPR certification (AHA) required on entry to position.

Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting data for unit Quality and Performance Improvement programs.
• Provide support to professional nurses through patient care tasks and unit maintenance.
• Perform phlebotomy, fingersticks for glucose, and electrocardiograms as assigned.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges per unit operations.
• Communicate responsively with patients, families and health-care team members.
