Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician-HCC 14/KP 5 Cardiac Cath-Evening Shift (37.5 Hours). The role supports the professional nurse in caring for patients and families, providing safe and compassionate care and assisting with the unit's safety, supplies, and environment.

The successful candidate will assist with phlebotomy, ECGs, glucose testing, and data collection for quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with at least 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification is required upon entry to the position.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates NYU Langone Health Core Values in duties.
• Assists nurse with data collection for Quality and Performance Improvement.
• Supports unit safety and cleanliness; handles equipment and supplies.
• Assists with patient admission, transfer and discharge procedures.
• Performs phlebotomy, fingersticks for glucose, and electrocardiograms as assigned.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and health care team.
