Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Cath Lab on the Evening shift. You will assist the nurse in patient care, support the unit, and participate in quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes.

The role requires a PCT program completion or CNA with EKG & Phlebotomy training, plus a CPR certification. You will perform phlebotomy and ECGs, assist with admissions and discharges, and uphold NYU Langone Health core values daily.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with at least 6 months hospital experience OR CNA with EKG & Phlebotomy coursework and PCT cert eligible plus 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required on entry; must complete PCT online program within 3 months.
• Senior Nursing Attendant: High School Diploma or equivalent; CNA with 6 months experience; CPR certification required on entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional nurse in patient care and families.
• Support unit supplies, equipment, and environment.
• Contribute to Quality and Performance Improvement data.
• Assist in data collection and patient care tasks including phlebotomy and ECGs.
• Maintain infection prevention standards and unit cleanliness.
• Communicate with patients, families and staff professionally.
