Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician II to join our on-site care team in Maryland. You will assist registered nurses with patient care, monitor vital signs, and support daily living activities while maintaining a safe and respectful environment.

Under supervision, you’ll perform routine clinical tasks, document observations, and help keep units well-supplied and organized. This role emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, and compassionate care for diverse patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; BLS within 30 days.
• English literacy and basic computer skills required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clear communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and support under RN supervision.
• Maintain patient safety and assist with daily living activities.
• Record vital signs and assist with laboratory procedures as directed.
• Assist in moving, positioning, and transporting patients using proper safety techniques.
• Support treatment and procedure setups, including equipment preparation and sterile technique where applicable.
