Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician I to join our team in Worcester. The role supports the care team with basic patient care duties, monitoring, and vital signs, under licensed clinician supervision.

You will perform EKGs/POC tests, assist with daily activities, and help ensure patient safety in a fast-paced hospital setting. A high school diploma and BLS are required, along with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly.
• Basic computer skills and medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, timely communication to the RN regarding patient observations.
• Maintain constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned.
• Assist in daily living activities and safe patient handling.
• Perform EKGs, POCT, bladder scanning, and collect specimens for lab transport.
• Assist in treatments/procedures with equipment setup and sterile technique.
