Job summary

Huntington Health in Pasadena, CA, is seeking a Patient Access Representative I to warmly welcome patients and guide them through the access to care process in the Emergency Room Registration workflow.

You will perform scheduling, pre-registration, financial clearance, eligibility verification, and act as the first point of contact for payers, physicians, and patients with a focus on accuracy and empathy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year Customer Service experience required.
• Healthcare experience in registration, scheduling, authorizations, call center and/or revenue cycle related roles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patients with a welcoming experience and facilitate access to care.
• Perform scheduling, pre-registration, financial clearance, referrals, authorizations and financial counseling.
• Handle patient arrival and registration across Inpatient, Outpatient and Emergency Services.
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements with accuracy.
• Determine patient liability and collect co-pays and deposits as needed.
