Job summary

Intermountain Health in Miles City, Montana, is seeking a Patient Access Registration Specialist I to support reception, enrollment, and scheduling for patients and visitors. You will collect demographics, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and guide patients through the care journey while ensuring privacy and accuracy of records.

The role supports a 24-hour cap? schedule with 1pm-9:30pm shifts, including weekend rotation.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Proficient computer skills incl. MS Office, internet and email.
Experience with Epic preferred.
Customer service experience, healthcare setting preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist patients/visitors courteously and professionally.
Obtain and verify patient demographics, financial, and insurance data.
Register and schedule patients for appointments, tests, procedures.
Collect and process co-pays, deductibles, balances due at service.
Provide information on financial assistance, payment plans, charity care.
Explain and obtain signatures on consent forms, policies, disclosures.
Provide directions, maps, and parking information.
Coordinate with staff to ensure smooth patient flow and care quality.
Document and update patient records in the electronic health system.
Follow up on pending issues such as prior authorizations, referrals, pre-certifications.
