Job summary

Children’s Nebraska is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to manage patient registrations, check-ins/check-outs, and scheduling across ED, inpatient, and radiology areas. The role requires strong customer service, attention to detail, and effective communication with patients and clinical teams.

The position supports a seamless patient experience in a fast-paced hospital setting. Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED and experience in patient registration or healthcare

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Experience in patient registration, healthcare administration, or similar role in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform full patient registrations in the hospital's EHR system, updating demographics and guarantor information.
• Handle patient check-ins and check-outs, provide appointment details and directions.
• Coordinate point-of-care scheduling for follow-up appointments and procedures.
• Respond to patient questions regarding services, registration processes and wait times.
• Act as liaison between clinical departments to support patient flow and minimize delays.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and hospital policies.
