Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to support inpatient and outpatient access. You will conduct interviews, verify insurance, handle registration, pre-certification, and financial clearance in Epic, Cadence, or Prelude as needed.

The role includes evening hours (3:00pm–1:30am), and requires working three out of six holidays. The position emphasizes patient identity verification, accurate data capture, and collaboration with the Patient Access team to maintain

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree or related experience preferred.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and holidays; strong communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills; EPIC system experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in person or by phone; manage scheduling and verification policies.
• Perform insurance verification, pre-certification, and financial clearance.
• Register patients and ensure accurate demographic data; coordinate bed planning and admissions.
