Job summary

Rochester Regional Health's Unity Hospital is seeking an Access Associate to welcome patients, handle check-in/check-out, and process payments with a warm, inviting demeanor. The role is in the ED/Patient Access department, with an evening shift from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., Monday to Friday, every other weekend, at Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY.

Strong communication and computer skills are essential. Experience in patient access or similar administrative roles is preferred; the posted pay range

Qualifications

• 2 year degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.
• Intermediate computer skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Customer Service. Manage incoming calls while providing necessary information; greeting patients providing direction as needed and scheduling patient appointments
• Registration & Verification. Complete the registration process for patients as defined by departmental policy; verify insurance eligibility/coverage and obtain necessary precertification/authorization when applicable
• Billing & Payments. Collect and process payments when applicable
