Job summary

The City of Richland is seeking a Registration Specialist to provide high-quality patient registration services. You will assist patients, providers, and payers and help create accurate electronic health records by gathering essential data.

Schedule: 2nd Shift - till 8/9pm; Start time flexible. Responsibilities include greeting patients, registering and discharging, collecting signatures, and coordinating appointments in a fast-paced setting. Strong communication and computer skills required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in healthcare registration or customer service preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with computers and electronic health record systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors entering the facility.
• Register and discharge patients accurately in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Distribute and collect required documentation and patient signatures.
• Inform patients of their rights, privacy notices, and other key information.
• Provide information and assistance to patients, families, and visitors.
• Perform clerical and reception duties, including updating provider schedules.
• Schedule clinical and surgical appointments and manage patient check-outs.
• Complete pre-admissions for scheduled procedures.
• Distributes and collect required documentation and patient signatures.
• Collect payments at the point of service.
• Respond to alarms and notify staff of emergencies per protocol.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Patient Access Manager
