Job summary

Tufts Medicine seeks a part-time Patient Access Representative to join the Lowell General Hospital Main Campus Emergency Department. The role focuses on revenue cycle tasks, patient registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance for scheduled services.

You will conduct in-person registrations, collect demographic and financial information, and assist patients with Liabilities and pre-service collections. On-site training and evening/weekend shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in customer service, hospital registration, medical office or insurance preferred.
• Strong communication and data-entry skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-registration tasks for inpatients/outpatients to collect demographic, financial, and clinical information.
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits eligibility; obtain necessary authorizations.
• Explain consent requirements and signature procedures to patients and representatives.
• Post payments and assist with time-of-service collections following standard policies.
