Job summary

Carolina Dunes Behavioral Health in Leland, NC is seeking a dedicated cook to implement menus and coordinate meal preparation for patients, staff, and visitors. You will ensure nutritious, high-quality meals following dietary guidelines and sanitary standards.

The role is onsite at the facility, 20 hours per week with an 11am–7pm schedule. Prior food service experience and a ServSafe certification are preferred for this position.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Two or more years’ experience in food service role in preparing food for institutions, such as school, hospital or cafeteria preferred.
• SERV Safe Certification or similar food safety certification, where required by the state or facility.

Responsibilities

• Plans and prepares foods in accordance with facility policies, approved dietary guidelines and recipes/menus.
• Directs activities of staff who assist in preparing and serving meals.
• Monitors serving line and may serve food to replenish as needed.
• Records equipment and food temperatures and meal counts daily.
• Keeps cooking area clean and orderly, transports trash to dumpster.
