Job summary

The Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Part-time RN with PACU or Critical Care experience to join our 24-hour recovery unit. This role supports patient-centered care from post-anesthesia through recovery, coordinating with the surgical team and on-call staff to ensure safe, efficient patient flow.

The RN will perform assessments, administer medications, monitor vitals, and educate patients and families about post-operative care while upholding infection control and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Indiana or a Compact State.
• PACU or Critical Care experience required.
• Evening, part-time schedule availability.
• Strong patient assessment and monitoring skills.
• Ability to respond to emergencies and perform CPR.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care per nursing process.
• Assess patients, document findings, and report changes to the care team.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
• Assist physicians during procedures and with post-op care.
• Educate patients and families on post-discharge care and safety.
• Maintain infection control and a safe environment.
