Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston seeks a Patient Care Technician to support compassionate cancer care, research, education, and prevention efforts. The role emphasizes organized workflow, strong communication, and flexible coverage across PACU areas.

Shift runs 3:00pm–11:30pm, Monday–Friday, with occasional weekend rotation. Orientation is 6:30am–3pm for about eight weeks. Prior OR experience is preferred but not required; CNA upon hire is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must be organized and flexible with strong communication and customer service skills.
• Prior procedural or operating room experience is preferred but not required.
• Candidate should be comfortable floating to other PACU areas as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in accordance with performance standards.
• Maintain efficient workflow and organize tasks across shifts.
• Prepare and maintain the surgical environment for assigned patients and turn over OR rooms.
• Assist with transport and supply responsibilities and manage supplies to avoid waste.
• Pursue ongoing learning and seek feedback for continual improvement.
