Job summary

University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks a Patient Care Technician to join the Nursing Resource Pool. The PCT will provide direct patient care under nursing supervision, assist with daily living activities, and float across 20+ inpatient units including Surgical, Medical, Hematology and more.

Evening shifts, with every-other weekend and rotating holidays, are required. Ideal candidates hold a Texas CNA license, have at least two years of acute care experience, and demonstrate strong

Qualifications

• Active Texas CNA License
• BLS with American Heart Association
• Minimum of two years of inpatient/acute care experience
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
• Preferred 1:1 observation experience

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support under supervision of nursing staff
• Assist with activities of daily living, mobility, hygiene, and comfort
• Perform 1:1 observation for agitated or at-risk patients
• Monitor and report changes in patient behavior or condition
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for all patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
• Document care activities accurately and promptly
• Float to different inpatient units each shift
