Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit at Life Sciences Plaza in Houston. You will support perioperative and recovery services, provide direct patient care, and assist with patient transport to maintain safe and efficient workflows.

Flexibility to float to other PACU areas, strong communication, and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Current or previous experience as a Patient Care Technician or Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Must be flexible to float to other areas within PACU.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care according to performance standards.
• Assist with activities of daily living, mobility, and admit/discharge processes.
• Obtain and record vital signs; perform patient transport duties safely and efficiently.
• Prepare and maintain the surgical environment; clean and turnover operating rooms per standards.
• Update and retrieve patient information; ensure clean, safe, and orderly environments.
