Brooklyn Academy of Music, Inc. is seeking a Network Administrator to own and maintain BAM's network infrastructure across campus locations, including the L10 shared network and partner spaces.

You will manage physical and wireless networks, firewalls, VPN, and network security while serving as the senior on-site technical authority during the second shift. The role requires independent decision-making within policy, with on-site supervision limited to IT leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Hands-on experience administering physical and wireless network infrastructure including switches, access points, and firewalls.
• Working knowledge of Cisco Meraki or equivalent cloud-managed networking platform.
• Experience with next-generation firewall configuration and management.
• Experience with VPN solutions and remote access administration.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues independently.
• Ability to work independently as the senior on-site technical resource during evening and weekend hours.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to document technical procedures and produce reports and recommendations for IT leadership.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification.
• Experience with Cisco Meraki and Ubiquiti UniFi specifically, including dashboard administration and policy management.
• Experience with WatchGuard firewalls.
• Experience supporting networked AV, control, or cinema systems including TCP/UDP, multicast, QoS.
• Experience managing shared or multi-tenant network environments with segmentation between organizations.
• Familiarity with network security monitoring and threat detection.

Responsabilités

• Own and maintain BAM's network infrastructure across campus locations, including the L10 shared network.
• Serve as the senior on-site technical authority during second shift hours.
• Provide escalation support for junior and temporary IT staff.
• Produce network performance and capacity reports for IT leadership.
• Ensure VPN access procedures are tested and ready for events.
• Maintain network readiness for scheduled rentals and programming events.
