The City University of New York's Brooklyn College is seeking an IT Assistant - Network Level 1 to support the installation, maintenance, and operation of the College's data and communications infrastructure.

You'll work under the Network Operations Manager, assisting in providing reliable network services to faculty, staff, and students, including wired and wireless connectivity, Active Directory support, and documentation.

Qualifications

Level 1 requires HS diploma and 2 years IT or CS-related work experience; or Associate’s with 1 year; or Bachelor’s with 6 months; or Bachelor’s in CS or related field.

Responsabilités

Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure (switches, routers, APs, firewalls, cabling).
Monitor performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, authentication).
Perform routine maintenance, firmware updates, and disaster recovery prep.
Support LAN/WAN/VLAN and wireless networks.
Provide support for Active Directory, network printing, and file sharing.
Document configurations, inventories, procedures, and service requests.
Assist with deployments, campus projects, and vendor coordination.
Observe cybersecurity policies and implement best practices.
Perform related network tech support duties.
