Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking staff to provide direct patient meal service, including taking meal selections and delivering trays. Knowledge of special diets and allergies is essential, along with maintaining cleanliness of nutrition centers and ensuring patient safety.

This role requires strong customer service and teamwork with Dietitians and nursing staff. Responsibilities include using EPIC and VST for patient information, processing orders, and meeting daily meal

Qualifications

• Must have a valid MCHD Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) throughout employment.
• Temporary FSWP allowed before start with first Wednesday training and orientation.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient calls following customer service standards.
• Follow diet restrictions and allergies in meal processing.
• Use EPIC and VST to access patient info and process menu requests.
• Process nourishment orders and print for kitchen staff.
• Adhere to missed meal reporting and alert nursing as needed.
• Deliver or retrieve meal trays as required.
• Interact with patients needing assistance for menu selections and enter diet restrictions correctly.
• Deliver trays within service timelines and maintain sanitation and safety standards.
