Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to provide direct patient meal service, select meals in person or via the hospitality center system, and deliver trays with attention to allergies and special diets.

Responsibilities include assisting with menu selections, adhering to diet restrictions, using EPIC and VST, and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining sanitation and safety standards across nutrition centers.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) from MCHD or a temporary FSWP before starting, with permanent FSWP within 1 month.
• Must maintain a valid MCHD FSWP throughout employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers phone calls from patients following customer service standards.
• Follows diet restrictions, including allergies and fluid restrictions.
• Uses EPIC and VST to access patient information and process menu requests.
• Processes between meal nourishment orders and prints for kitchen staff.
• Delivers or retrieves meal trays as needed.
• Visits patients needing assistance for menu selections and records according to diet restrictions.
