Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator in Houston, TX to coordinate and schedule patient appointments, diagnostic tests, and treatments, ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate records. The role supports the multidisciplinary care team and requires a high school diploma with 3 years of healthcare customer service experience.

Evening/Night shifts are included, with a work week that includes weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of relevant healthcare customer service experience.
• Must pass pre-employment skills test as required by Human Resources

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule patient appointments.
• Schedule provider appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments.
• Prepare and maintain daily appointment templates and patient records in One Connect.
• Communicate all pertinent information to families, physicians, team members, and other patient care areas.
• Prepare patient materials and documentation according to established procedures.
• Collect co-payments and validate patient insurance and demographics.
• Update payment and patient information; reconcile One Connect cash drawer daily.
• Follow standard operating procedures for the institution and center.
• Protect the security and confidentiality of patient information at all times.
• Other duties as assigned
