Job summary

Vanderbilt University’s Wilson Music Library seeks a part-time Library Services Assistant to manage the evening service desk and deliver high-quality user support. The role covers circulation, shelving quality control, digitization of materials, and basic admin for student staff during after-hours shifts.

Working 20 hours weekly (4:00 pm–10:00 pm), you’ll assist users with equipment, reference inquiries, and access to collections, while upholding library policies and ensuring welcoming service

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 1 year of work experience in an academic or research library.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and library systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs all circulation functions and coordinates all operations of the service desk.
• Provides music subject expertise for reference services during hours when librarians are not present; answering inquiries or referring as needed.
• Oversees physical and organizational maintenance of the Music Library’s print and audio materials collection.
• Develops shelving quality control system and maintains related statistics.
