Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician with microbiology experience to join our evening shift in Georgia. Under supervision, you will perform tests requiring limited skill, exercise judgment, and report lab data with accuracy and timeliness to support patient care.

Ideal candidates have an Associates in Medical Technology or a certificate, and hold MLT certifications (AAB/AMT/ASCP) with at least 1 year of lab experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Technology or certificate equivalent.
• Licenses as MLT (AAB/AMT/ASCP) or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year laboratory experience; preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accuracy in QA proficiency testing and reporting.
• Ensure correct patient/specimen identification.
• Document QA failures and trends accurately.
• Maintain instrumentation and perform data analysis for results.
• Report lab data accurately and timely.
• Ensure compliance with Wellstar policies, safety standards and LIS procedures.
• Participate in meetings, education and team projects.
