Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a Behavioral Health Aide for evening shifts. The role is 0.8 FTE, 32 hours per week, with every other Saturday and Sunday required. Expect to float to other Behavioral Health nursing units as needed, per leadership direction.

Starting wage is $20.16 per hour, with a $1.80 evening differential and $1.80 weekend differential, and potential for higher pay based on relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current enrollment in and completion of half a Psychology, Social Work, or related undergraduate program, or equivalent experience, required.
• One year of hospital experience in a mental health role within the past three years, or equivalent education, required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to end of orientation, maintained.
• Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification required prior to end of orientation, maintained.
• First Aid certification required prior to end of orientation, maintained.

Responsibilities

• Participates with the interdisciplinary team in specialized patient care.
• Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Provides trauma-informed care and safety through de-escalation and interventions.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans.
• Acts as a resource to staff regarding diagnoses, behavior plans, and crisis management.
