Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited program (NAACLS/ABHES) or equivalent with required chemistry and biology coursework and eligibility to sit for certification.
• Certification as Medical Lab Technician through ASCP/AMT/ACHI or equivalent must be obtained within 18 months of employment.
• Applicants trained outside the United States must provide documentation of equivalency evaluation to meet CLIA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues.
• Identify bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms; analyze chemical content of fluids.
• Cross match blood for transfusion and prepare cells for cellular therapies aseptically.

Education

Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology

Medical Lab Technician Certification (ASCP/AMT/ACHI) within 18 months

CLC/foreign-credential equivalency evaluation if trained outside the US
