Job summary

Avamere at St Helens, OR is seeking a dedicated Medication Tech for Memory Care to administer medications and provide direct, compassionate care to residents.

Pass medications per physician orders, document in the EMR, monitor for side effects, assist with appointments, and keep a clean med cart. CPR/First Aid and a Food Handler’s Card are required; you must be 18 or older and collaborate with nursing staff, families and physicians.

Qualifications

• Experience in Memory Care Unit or Assisted Living Facility.
• Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Genuine desire to improve quality of life for seniors.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications according to physician orders under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Administer accurately and timely.
• Record medications in the resident’s EMR.
• Notify pharmacy or family when meds need refilling.
• Maintain a clean and organized medication cart/room.
• Monitor and report medication side effects to Health Services Director.
• Record changes in residents’ status in the EMR.
• Follow care plans for medication administration.
