Job summary

JLL in New York, NY is seeking a Mechanic Engineer to operate and maintain a premier commercial property, ensuring safety, comfort, and reliability for tenants. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections of building systems, and respond to issues with urgency and professionalism.

Thursdays through Mondays 4 p.m. – 12 a.m., $46.12 hourly. This role offers the chance to work with Local Union 94 and advance in a collaborative real estate environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of operating/building engineering experience in a commercial setting.
• Certifications S12, S13, A35, and P98 are required.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Attention to detail and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a safe and clean work environment and follow safety procedures.
• Routine Assessments and Rounds: Regularly assess all building systems and perform rounds.
• Preventive and Corrective Maintenance: Execute maintenance tasks to prevent downtime.
• Painting and Housekeeping: Perform minor painting and assist with housekeeping.
• Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Chilled Water Equipment: Monitor and service HVAC and related systems.
• Hot Water Systems Maintenance: Maintain water heaters, pumps, valves, piping, and filters.
• Tenant Services: Respond to tenants’ service requests promptly.
• System Installation Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues with new installations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with codes and keep records.
