Job summary

JLL Newark is seeking a Mechanical Technician to lead preventative maintenance of building mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems in Newport/ Newark, DE. You will inspect, maintain, and repair systems to ensure reliable operations and tenant satisfaction.

The role requires expertise in HVAC control systems, electrical equipment, and building controls. Evening and weekend coverage may be needed to support operations and urgent issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of practical experience with strong knowledge of HVAC control systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work with hand tools and at heights safely.
• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and resolve building issues promptly.
• Excellent communication skills with tenants and building staff.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Resourceful team player with collaborative problem-solving.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of building mechanical and electrical systems and perform maintenance and repairs.
• Monitor contractors to ensure quality and efficiency of their work.
• Record measurements and maintain documentation of system performance.
• Maintain preventative maintenance for life safety equipment and ensure compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve building system issues to minimize tenant disruption.
• Maintain positive tenant relations through professional communication.
• Work with hand tools and at heights as needed to complete tasks.
• Manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and quality.
