Job summary

JLL Newark, DE is seeking a Mechanical Technician to perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, building management systems, and life safety equipment across our facilities. You will apply your expertise in HVAC, electrical equipment, and building controls and collaborate with contractors to ensure reliable, safe operations.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience with strong knowledge of HVAC control systems.
• Ability to work with hand tools and at heights safely.
• Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and resolve building issues.
• Excellent communication and tenant relations skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Collaborative team player with flexibility for evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of building mechanical and electrical systems and perform maintenance and repairs including lighting, chilled/heating water systems, rooftop equipment, boilers, HVAC controls, and fire/life safety systems.
• Monitor contractors to ensure efficient performance and maintain quality standards.
• Record mechanical readings and maintain documentation of system performance.
• Maintain preventative maintenance program for life safety equipment and ensure safety compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve building system issues to minimize tenant disruption.
• Maintain positive tenant relations through professional communication and responsive service.
• Work with hand tools and at heights as required to complete maintenance tasks.
• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while upholding quality standards.
